What is a preschool cooperative?
A preschool cooperative is a school which is organized and directed by parents. Parents are also involved in the classroom as assistants to the teacher. Cooperative preschools also aim to provide a curriculum that is developmentally appropriate and incorporates play.

What age does my child need to be?
In general, children must be 2 years old by September 1st preceding the school year to attend the 2/3's class. We also offer a 3/4 year old class and a 4/5 year old class.

When are classes scheduled?
2/3 year old classes: meets either twice a week, 9:30-11:30 on Monday and Friday or once a week, 9:30-11:30 on Tuesday.

3/4 year old classes: meet twice per week, 9:30-11:30 Tuesday and Thursday. There is an opportunity to register for an extended day on Thursdays until 1:30.

4/5 year old classes: meet three times per week, 9:30-11:45 Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. There is an opportunity to register for an extended day on Mondays or Wednesdays until 1:30.

How much is tuition?
For the 2010-2011 School year:

2/3's Class: (meets 1 time per week) $50 per month, (meets 2 times per week) $70 per month

3/4's Class: (meets 2 times per week) $70 per month, Lunch bunch adds $40 per month

4/5's Class: (meets 3 times per week) $90 per month, Lunch Bunch adds $40 per month

There is also a registration fee ($45) and a supply fee ($20-$50) paid at the time of registration.

How many students are in a class and what are the student:teacher ratios?
In general, 2/3's classes have 6-10 students, 3/4's classes have 8-15 students. 4/5's classes have 8-15 students. The student:teacher ratios are comfortably low. 2/3 year classes have a maximum of 4 children per adult. 3/4 year classes have a maximum of 5 children per adult and 4/5 year classes have a maximum of 6 children per adult. These are the maximums, however, the true ratios are usually even lower.
